A Better Life In Cuba? - Introduction

While we are the richest nation in the world, the quality of life in the United States is declining. Furthermore, our continued interventions around the world continue to cause more problems than they solve. Miami Boatlift was developed out of a project called Ghana Think Tank. Both endeavors seek to find answers in other countries to the many problems of the United States.

But how does one go about creating a boatlift out of the United States? Particularly to a country which has been attributed to the "axis of evil" ? While I have started with a simple pretext, the situation is quite complex and I have talked to many people with vastly different perspectives and experiences. Since the right wing Miami point of view is well represented I have tried to focus on some of the others.
